Cutting Edge, KMC Manipal is proud to present to you our annual surgical extravaganza – Chirurgia ’16
Themed on patient care and spanning over two days, this year’s fest will take you on a joyride through the thrilling field of surgery in unique and exciting ways.
This year’s events are as follows

  1. Transfuse: Intrauterine Blood Transfusion – A Talk by Dr. Akhila Vasudeva, Dept. of OBGYN – A much known but less performed procedure and the first of its kind in coastal Karnataka!
  2. Suturing Marathon – Test your technique, precision and speed in the art of suturing.

  4. Beyond Clinics: Health Management: A by Dr. Kailesh Pujary, Dept. of ENT – Hearing an MBBS and MBA graduate, you can be sure to gain insight into the patient-less side of medicine
  5. Trauma First Aid and Splinting workshop- This workshop focuses on one of the main skills of a doctor- managing trauma in various ways
  6. Treasure Hunt – Crack the clues to reach your final destination before everyone else

RULES:

  1. Teams of maximum 3 members are allowed
  2. No cell phones/ tablets/ other electronic devices are allowed inside the room.
  3. A maximum of 25 minutes will be given to each team to solve the puzzle.
  4. Prizes will be awarded based on speed and/or maximum number of correct answers.
  5. Participants may request for a maximum of 3 hints while in the room. Time penalty will be awarded for the same as follows:
    1. 1st Hint: +10s
    1. 2nd hint- +20s
    1. 3rd hint- +30s
  6. Damaging any prop in the room will led to immediate disqualification.
  7. Participants are not allowed to touch/ tamper with any object in the room marked with a green flag.
  8. The decision of the Game master in case of any dispute shall be final and binding.
